Social Video Creator- Role Description

Mattr Media is a London based video content agency on a mission to help brands tell stories that well, matter. Part of that mission means sharing our knowledge on how you actually tell those meaningful stories for today’s audiences and that’s where you come in… Your role will be creating, editing and then releasing regular original video content that teaches brands how to “matter” as well as helping us add value wherever we can for our amazing clients.

We are a very small team, we’ve been around for a few years now but we maintain the start-up mentality and agile business model, this means we don’t have the corporate structure of a larger traditional agency with a ‘ladder’ for you to climb. If however, you want to grow into your role in a still growing company free from bureaucracy and pigeon holes in an environment that encourages and applauds initiative, then this is the place for you.

The sort of Mattr Media films you’ll be in charge of:

  • Regular thought leadership videos with founders Josh and Josh

  • Regular “Mattr Meets” interviews with our clients and agency partners

  • Promotional films about the projects we’ve been working on

  • Capturing our “Build A Brand Movement” panel and workshop events

  • Regular vox pop style topical content

The other thing’s you’ll be up to:

  • Assisting in the creative stage of our larger projects (researching, referencing, creating treatments, sizzle videos etc)

  • Assisting on client film shoots

  • Shooting and editing behind the scenes content on client film shoots

  • Creating additional social video content for our clients and agency partners

  • Assisting on the visual branding for Mattr and our events/workshops etc

  • Optimising and releasing content over our social channels

  • Keeping our website up to date

We’re looking for someone with the following strengths:

  • Videography on DSLR style film cameras (ideally on Sony Alphas)

  • Photography

  • A good level of skill in Premier Pro CC

  • A basic level of skill in After Effects

  • A basic level of skill in Photoshop

  • A good understanding of basic filming set ups (including lighting, sound, camera)

  • A good eye for quality visuals both in film and graphic design

  • A good understanding of social media platforms (Linkedin, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube specifically)

  • Using initiative, being flexible and good under pressure

  • Good organisational skills

Additional "nice to haves" would be:

  • Proficient in Apple software (keynote, pages etc)

  • Previous film led marketing experience

  • Knowledge of optimising and content for social channels

  • Knowledge of distribution and paid media on social channels

  • Your own camera/sound/lighting kit

  • Connections with a wider network of likeminded creatives and freelancers for larger productions.

  • Skills in template based web design (squarespace specifically)

  • 3-month initial trial

  • £20k salary (negotiable depending on experience)
