The problem: International Greetings PLC (the world’s leading gifting and celebrations business) wanted to rebrand to “The Design Group”, but they knew for it to be a success, they needed buy in from their 1,500 global team, suppliers, customers and stakeholders.
The Solution: Taking inspiration from the new company name 'Design Group', and their tagline ‘we design the things that make you smile', we set out to encourage everyone at the company no matter their roles or artistic skills to be designers for the day. So, we tasked all worldwide staff members to each design a giant jigsaw piece based on something that made them smile. For each jigsaw piece that was created The Design Group donated to a local charity ensuring everyone got involved. The result was a huge 12m x 12m jigsaw puzzle made up of 944 bespoke and personal pieces from 15 offices around the globe raising over £15,000 for charity!
Why it Mattr’d: The jigsaw coming together quite literally symbolised the entire workforce uniting and boosted company morale to an all time high. In addition to the creative, the overall rebrand saw the company’s share price rocket, meaning some very happy investors. The entire process was captured from start to end on a series of films, social media content as well as 'coffee table' photo albums which were distributed back to all the staff involved meaning a long lasting reminder for all.
