The Challenge:

Facebook, the world’s largest online community has become one of the best platforms to help businesses grow. So how could they showcase the real world impact of their Facebook For Business product to the 1000’s of businesses around the world?

The solution:

Jacob Hopewell and Josh Hine (Head of Creative of Mattr) flew to Singapore to direct a commercial, tailor made for social media audiences watching on their mobiles. Their canvas of choice: a vertical video. The subject, the real world special moments we interact with every day through our Facebook and Instagram feeds.

THE IMPACT:

The vertical video format, now pretty common, was completely revolutionary at the time and was one of the first examples of format being used in social media advertising (we like to think we started that trend!). The campaign, initially just intended for social, was also used for print and in-store advertising and rolled out global online thanks to multiple cut downs featuring localised cast and locations.

Why it Mattr’d:

Authenticity was key to this campaign. That’s why a lot of the people who featured in the films were street cast. Taking this one step further, Josh and Jake designed a special camera which projected newsfeed content to their subjects while filming so all the reactions you see are real and unscripted (ask us about the story behind the girl crying, that was a really emotional moment on the shoot).

*MOBILE VIEWING RECOMMENDED!*
